New hypothesis on the origin of MCS and EHS

emdhypothesis
Hello :-)

I am suffering from MCS and EHS and have written an article on a new pathophysiological mechanism at medium.com.

This mechanism can plausibly and scientifically explain fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and related diseases such as MCS and EHS.

I would be very happy about feedback. Thanks for every comment!

All the best, Rudger

Hi Rudger

I'm reading your articles now, and also reading some of the prerequisites to understand them.

Thanks!

I fear Part 1 and 3 are a bit long. Perhaps splitting them again and making 5 parts would have been better. But I’m currently too exhausted.

Basically the hypothesis is very easy to understand. 1. old aversive memories persist, 2. they must be inhibited to not get spontaneously active, 3. if the inhibitory mechanism is impaired by whatever deleterious effect (toxins, brain inflammation, etc.) then the body is haunted by countless autonomic reactions triggered by old aversive memories.

Please spread the mechanism among other sufferers. Imho its the first time a mechanism is proposed that can explain all the FSS. That’s something and worth a discussion.

Best wishes Rudger

curious if this is the cause then do you know where the solution may be? I usually feel brain fried around emf and minimizing exposure and being outdoors in the sun seems to be the only thing that helps.

I have some ideas concerning that, but I’m not yet ready for that. Currently the most important next step would be to measure somehow the disturbance or demise of extinction neurons after EMF exposure. Without a proof or at least supporting data for my hypothesis, nobody will put an effort developing healing methods based on my hypothesis.

Some months ago I read that debris of neuronal demise can be measured in the blood or CSF. If this debris increases after EMF exposure, this would be quite intriguing. But I lost the link. It’s on my todo list ...

This seems to be a large part of the cause. I had recently took one more shot at trying to cure my EHS and more mild MCS with taking lions mane mushroom. While they certainly helped my cognition and sharpened my senses a bit this was not the answer either so I was stumped again. Since there is nothing so far that has cured it through anything I can take or any sort of body detox then it's down to something going on that was changed in the neurological system itself and this explanation makes the most sense. I'm just fine until I'm exposed to a screen for too long, a computer or game console, wifi signal close to me, or a dense amount of wireless in general.  Like I was waiting in somewhere yesterday and made the stupidest decision in the world knowing just what would happen, took out my smart phone and played a game to pass time. I wasn't even playing it for much longer than 10 minutes and it felt like my forehead had sunburn all day and my brain fog got far worse with some cascade effects in speech as per usual. This is not a strong exposure, I even had it in airplane mode but even the phone itself and the screen was enough to cause problems upon lightly touching my nervous system enough for it to cause a change. I also notice that the first thing that happens before all of this that lines up with this article is the negativity response that EMF triggers in me whether it be anger/sadness/fear, first the emotions get out of control and then the entire bodily system can go haywire. I just hope that in the future there is some medical procedure that can fix this because it's out of my hands as far as I can tell.

Hello sourdoe83,

Sorry, I’m currently too sick for a longer answer. Just wanted to tell you that OLED screens have much more radiation than TFT/IPS screens. This is because in OLED screens every pixel is a kind of light bulb and radiates.

In TFT screens the pixel also radiate, but much much weaker.

If your screen is an OLED try a TFT. Additionally choose FULL screen ilumination. For lower values, the backlight is flickering invisibly and that makes also a lot of radiation.

Also you can use 5mg prednisone after a strong exposure. It should help a little bit.

Addition: People now often use the „night mode“ in smartphones where the pixels are inverted, thus white turns black and vice versa.

This saves a lot of battery, but ONLY in smartphones with OLED screens. The higher electric current normally going through OLED screens is the reason for their higher radiation.

In Oled Screens, no current is running through a black pixel. Thats why the night mode saves battery.

In TFTs the backlight has always the same strength, independent of pixel color and intensity.

And your observation that emotion get out of control is just that: the task of extinction neurons is to check the physical and mental consequences of emotional memories.

If they are damaged, old negativity enters your mind and also causes physical symptoms.

The predamaged extinction neurons would need a rest in order to recover. But they cannot rest due to the task they have.

A deep coma would perhaps help. But possibly the medication that induces the coma would further damage the extinction neurons.

It’s really a difficult situation for us as I see it.

That’s why up to now no treatment was found ....

But a novel understanding of the disease through my hypothesis could perhaps pave the way for new treatment ideas ... that’s what i hope at least ...

Emdhypothesis, what does TFT stand for?

I think that constant fluctuation in power levels feeding an OLED screen might in itself bother some people.  While a constant-powered backlight might be preferable (especially if it does not use pulse width modulation for dimming)

Emdhypothesis stands for „EMD hypothesis“. And EMD means „extinction memory damage“, which is in my opinion the cause of electric hypersensitivity, CFS, IBS, MCS, PMS, tension headache, and further disorders.

Hmm, never thought about that. Perhaps thats the real source of the problems i have with OLEDs. The cable feeding the screen would be like an antenna...

I don't use my phone enough for that too matter at bthe cost of being more bored occasionally but I didn't know that. Good thing OLED screens are expensive otherwise and something I wouldn't go for. My monitor has a shield on it and I can only tolerate the VGA output from my computer. The worst thing about EHS is how alienating it is and how frustrating it is to have walls in life this absurd. Couldn't use electronics normally cause you'll get too sick and if I didn't have the money to get to where I am now with it right now when it came to initial detoxing and shielding I would probably be living in a cave staring at the wall all day.

I read the short version on the EMD hypothesis site. This sounds compatible with the brain retraining programs such as  DNRS and the gupta program, do you know about these?

Yes, I’m aware of these programs. It’s quite possible that these programs mainly help by strengthening the extinction memory, or even by promoting neurogeneration which would create NEW extinction neurons that are not sensitive to EMR.

Have you come up with your own process that might work that others can try, or any ideas in this direction? I completely healed once from emf sensitivity through trauma healing, no symptoms for a few years,  and then it came back after trying neurofeedback.

I suspect that the physical-somatic system gets too hyped up from whatever-it-is that we go through; you just accidentally brought it back into a prior set.  Acupuncture's helping mine.

I developed my own method and it improved a lot my MCS. But for EHS its less effective, don’t know why. Probably because it’s not possible to find radiation free places, whilst one can create for himself an environment quite free of chemicals.

Unfortunately my method is currently described only in German. I plan to create s short version in in English but it’ll take time ... to sick and busy with surviving...
