I searched Melatonin but there are not many recent posts. I am seeking a good recommendation for high quality melatonin that has helped you...
I started taking some but figured it might be good to get some advice from people who have taken it longer and gotten good results.
I actually got this advice from Dr Gunnar Heuser. He said Vitamin C was good to take daily and increase to 3000 mg if I can per day, starting slowly. He added that Melatonin has a direct effect on the quality of sleep to heal and it has other benefits in the brain. I felt like I did sleep better after taking it even the first night. In fact I felt most knocked out by that original dose.
Now I do find I am sleeping slightly better and dreams are being recalled. I had a long stretch of no dreams that I was aware of or even if I was dreaming.
Although one dream 2 nights ago was intense. There was a snake swimming toward me in a body of water... a woman I do not know swam to the side to avoid the snake. As it approached I was splashing to make him go away, but he lunged at me as if to bite and it was so real and vivid as if in 3D coming at my face... I jerked in bed which awoken me and gave me some muscle spasms... so there's that. :(
yeah i used to get stupid dreams when i took melatonin, to the point that it caused me not to want to take it at all, I think potatoes and other foods are naturally rich in melatonin, i like that route better! but a snake could be a "lie" or an idea that you bought into that might not be true. (a snake is a small tail,, or a tale) just check your facts in your life cant be to carefull!
UphillBattle. Thanks for posting the Resonance video. I didn't realize the effect emfs have on melatonin and the importance of it to fight off free radicals. I've added it to my short list of supplements. I've been on it for two days and feel better already. Nature Made 5mg.
I agree that fighting free radicals is quite helpful. When I was really bad off (ES-wise), I found benefits from two products that BOTH claimed to be 1000 times stronger than Vitamin C -- Megahydrate and Amrit. As just plain old Vitamin C didn't seem to do anything for me, and if anything the acidity just made things worse.
I've never experimented enough with Melatonin to have an opinion of it. As usually I associate that with helping with sleep, and I have no problems falling asleep.
The Biopure melatonin mentioned is good, but pricey. I use DaVinci liposomal melatonin on my kids.
Personally, my Klinghardt doc just started me on high dose (250 mg) transdermal melatonin because it is a great detoxer for the brain, and removes metals from the brain. Along with chelation, I'm hoping they help to reduce my EHS symptoms.
I can't speak to it's effectiveness, because I've only been using it about 5 days, and am not even up to the 250 mg yet; I'm pretty sensitive to a lot of supplements because of my chronic illness, so I'm at about 50 mg per night. Next week I'll go up to 75 mg per night and increase each week until I reach the full dose.
