Cannabis as superfood

gjohnson
I have been EHS for over 30 years and MCS for over 70 years. The MCS is
such that most prescription drugs, OTC drugs, supplements, vitamins,
etc. just do not work for me, at least in normal dosages. That means I
have to get my medication from food. I saw something on the Internet
that cannabis might be the next superfood, so decided to try it. In
Colorado, where I live, it is legal to have 12 plants for personal use.
Standard wisdom is that cannabis must be heated (smoked or baked) to
activate the THC that makes one high. I have never smoked a joint, and
am not interested in starting, so I have been testing the affects of
eating cannabis uncooked. I have tried eating the leaves like kale
(tastes awful, burns mouth), dried and powdered (in a little water like
Metamucil, or hidden in a sandwich), cold brewed tea, seeds (unchewed),
and fermented with other vegetables. Side effects from excessive dosage
include depression, chest pain, change in gait, and sometimes feeling
really good! The interesting thing is that my chronic lower back pain is
substantially better, and also my EHS. I have no idea what fraction of
EHS folk would improve by eating uncooked cannabis, but if one were able
to acquire a few seeds from a pothead buddy and plant a few plants
behind the tomatoes, at a modest cost, it might be worth a try. A
detailed account of my saga can be found at my website,
